STORE MANAGER

Catbird, Williamsburg’s iconic jewelry shop is looking for a qualified and driven store manager to join its retail team. The ideal candidate will be a responsible, creative, professional and dependable individual. At least two years in a retail management position absolutely required.

Essential functions of this role:
- Train, manage and schedule store staff.
- Keep the store running smoothly and looking spiffy.
- Communicate and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Guarantee exceptional customer service in store.
- Work with the owner, buyer, ecommerce manager and inventory manager on a consistent basis on how to improve operations and grow the business.
- Monitor daily sales, cash on-hand, registers, point of sale, credit card batches.
- Attend regular management meetings and facilitate store staff meetings.
- Coach, develop and maximize the success and happiness of all associates.
- Ensure that the team continues to work well together.
- Ensure a positive in-store experience.
- Represent Catbird in a positive manner.

Required Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of retail management experience.
- Have impeccable, high-end customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Know how to deal with crises, big and small.
- Be able to both prioritize and multitask.
- Must have experience successfully leading a strong retail team.
- Familiarity with jewelry a big plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to act quickly in a fast-paced retail environment
- Creative leadership skills and ability to energize store staff
- Proficient in Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to lead with little direction

- Is comfortable taking direction, as well as problem solving in the moment.
- Work with a sense of both urgency and calm
- Completes tasks as they are assigned and follows up to ensure the task/projecy was completed
- Is professional at all times and in all situations.

Scheduling Requirements:
• May be required to work more than 8 hours during a workday.
• Regular shifts are 11:45 - 8:30
• Manager will need to work at least one weekend day and be available from mid October through Christmas.

Compensation:
- Competitive salary with benefits, commensurate with experience. Currently, our health insurance plan does not include dental or mental health.
